Ignorance
Ignorance is an utter and complete bliss
When you’re lost in the depths of a heated kiss;
All good sense swept away in the raging flood
Of rising excitement marked by pounding blood.
A chance met encounter at the shopping mall;
Instant attraction with no parental pall
Of strict urges of caution or dull chiding,
Only the freedom to act, with no hiding.
Primal instinct is the only golden rule;
So there’s no real hope at all of playing cool.
And consequences become hindering brakes
As societal instruction fails and breaks.
But who is this charming intimate stranger
Whose allure caused disregard for all danger?
And what will be the resulting aftermath
From this seemingly lucky crossing of path?
Ignorance may be bliss in the dazed moment,
But sometimes consequences are permanent.
For Lady Luck is often fickle with fate,
And knowledge gained afterward may be too late.
