Liquid Light

Liquid Light

The bright stars in the night sky
Beckon to me across the many years
Their beauteous light must travel
To my wondering eyes.
These jewels in a velvet void
Haunt my captivated thoughts;
And every night I watch in awe
With my wondering eyes.
Weave a strand of starlight
Into a tapestry of delight;
Cup your hands to gather a pool
And quench your thirst with cool
Liquid Light.
I stand with upturned face
Gazing into the vastness of space
That recedes toward infinity
From my wondering eyes.
These diamond bright points
Are like tiny ethereal lamps
Pouring out their sacred oil
To anoint my wondering eyes.
Weave a strand of starlight
Into a tapestry of delight;
Cup your hands to gather a pool
And quench your thirst with cool
Liquid Light.
I want, I need, I ache to soar
Through the darkling distances
And flit moth-like among the starry host
To feast my wondering eyes.
I’ll drift in the endless tides
That flow between the flaming orbs;
And float in a scintillant sea of light
That drowns my wondering eyes.
Weave a strand of starlight
Into a tapestry of delight;
Cup your hands to gather a pool
And quench your thirst with cool
Liquid Light.
