Her fragrance lingers in the still morning air,
’Though her presence is a ghost — no longer there.
Dim shadows moving on the cold, sunlit wall
Spark bright memories that cause me to recall
Passion’s eternal dance by warm candlelight;
Cast in silhouette during the fevered night
When tides ebbed and swelled in rhythmic harmony,
Shared need’s timeless steps to complete ecstasy.
But in dawn’s light my solo mood isn’t the same
As I hope and pray she’ll remember my name.
