Love Transcends
For my dear friend Iris, in her time of grief
When a loved one breathes their last breath
And we must face their loss and death,
The grief may overwhelm at first
And leave an unquenched, parching thirst
For their laughter, their hug, their smile.
But know that even in this trial
Their love’s here in so many ways,
And will be so all of our days.
